Mixed Media Canvas – Poppies

Hello all,

Just finished this Mixed Media canvas using the wonderful Poppy Meadow stamp set by Indigo Blue. Love these Poppy images, they really allowed for a lovely focal point for this canvas.

I have a long list of supplies for this canvas and not much time tonight; will need to post materials used for this project in another post.
Wishing you all a terrific weekend.  I will be traveling and will not have much time for creating this weekend.  I suppose I will have to craft extra next week to make up for it.  lol
Happy Day!

Art Journal – Hope more

Hello all,

A quick post to show you the Art Journal page that I completed tonight.  I received these wonderful metal medallions from Pandahall in the mail today along with a new stencil from Club Scrap.  The saying featured here is also from Club Scrap and really fit my thoughts tonight.

There seems to be so much negativity in the world today.  Tonight I wanted to make a page that reminded me that there is still a lot of good out there as well.  Art Journaling is such a great way to express your thoughts and feelings!

One last thought, I am really liking the Liquitex Matte Medium on these pages.  I like the coverage it provides without the super shiny finish.
Hope you all are having a good week!
Happy day,

Monday Happy & Simple Card – Decorative Paper

Hello all,

Back again, with another Happy and Simple Card for you all.  This week I wanted to focus on decorative paper and the ease in which you can use it to make a stunning card.  In the example below, I found a beautiful collage style cardstock by Momenta and thought it would be perfect for a quick and simple card.

I used this wonderful paper as my base by cutting out a panel that was slightly smaller than my card base (5×5 card base).  The edges were darkened with Distress ink prior to adhering the panel to the card.  I then adhered a wide strip of metallic gold paper (torn at edges) along with a thin black strip of cardstock to the upper-mid portion of the card.  For the focal point, I stamped and embossed an image of a “bird within a frame” and lightly colored with alcohol markers.  This element was adhered to the card, in the center of the gold/black strip, with pop up foam.  Lastly, I stamped the saying (as shown in the example).

What do you think?  Would a Happy, Simple card like this work for you?

Ready for the Weekend

Hello all,

Just made a craft run on my home from work!  I stopped by Blick Art Materials and Micheal’s Craft Store to get some goodies to play with this weekend.
Isn’t a beautiful sight?!?  Picked up a 50 stick set of Sakura Oil Pastels, a Hampton Art Stamp set, some fun lock and key embellishments along with a new medium to try (Cold Press Ground).   Woohoo, now I am ready to craft the weekend away!  I am sure that you will see some more posts from me this weekend.  🙂

Happy Day!
